Resumé
| The degrowth movement is getting stronger in recent years, but together with the movement, its critique is being strengthened as well. Tha aim of this text is to present the degrowth debate and contribute to it with a reaction to the main critique of growth. It is thus a discussion paper. This paper offers a debate between proponents and oponents of degrowth in the basic points: Is it possible to decouple grwoth from the increasing of carbon emissions and material consumption? Does the switch to a degrowth economy necessarily mean a decline of the standard of living? Can degrowth coexist with capitalism or does it go against its fundamentals? The conclusion of the text offers an answer to the question where is degrowth right now.. |
