Resumé
| This article aims at presenting the unique project Olomouc without barriers as a potential instrument of social policy of municipality that city of Olomouc has been conducting for over twenty years. First part of the article is dedicated to social, professional and political foundations of the project and also to the goals of the project. Second part describes the preparatory part of the project and development of strategy when dealing with political representation of the city. The analytical part then emphasises the surveying the needs of the public in the area of removal and prevention of construction, information and technical barriers in the city of Olomouc. The main part of the article deals with implementation of the project with an accent on public transport, housing and tourism. In the end of the article the philosophy of the project is put into the context of both legal and WHO requirements for municipalities when creating environment supportive for mobility of their citizens and active lifestyle, including some important rewards the project won both on national and international level.. |
