Abstrakt
| The paper deals with the issue of crisis. It approaches crisis as a phenomenon that may and indeed does occur in any area of human activity. There are production, economic, social, political, power, military, civilisational and other crises. The paper analyses the dimensions and characteristics of crises in detail, exploring their individual dimensions and potentials. The theoretical considerations presented here are related to the theory of security sciences under development, an integral part of which is threat analysis and planned, systematic risk management. The emphasis is on the current globalisation phenomenon, which on the one hand simplifies some processes and situations (especially owing to the financial prosperity of multinational companies and institutions), but on the other hand generates new problems, the magnitude of which we cannot even image in some aspects, and to which we therefore cannot even proactively respond in advance so as to eliminate them. The paper draws attention to the fact that the economic cycle, in some of its aspects, in a globalised world may not show the classic sinusoidal pattern in the form of the simple waves known as depression, crisis, recovery and boom. Today, partial crises may follow each other in quick succession, with the later crisis having worse adverse impacts than the previous ones (the amplitudes of the partial crises are gradually increasing). Therefore, from the viewpoint of society as a whole, the mindset and crisis management should also change, as crises in specific areas follow each other and create society-wide, civilisational crises. The following methods were used in its processing: research and analysis of the available professional literature, general cognitive methods, methods of generalization of acquired and proven knowledge in the field of economics, security and security sciences.
